In this research area we focus on obtaining and studying the properties of different black objects in four or more dimensions, solutions of the theory of General Relativity and on theories with corrections for higher curvature.
Black objects are gravitational objects that have an event horizon. These objects include black holes, strings, and black p-branes, among others. In four dimensions, different properties and theorems have been established for the black hole solutions of General Relativity theory, such as the no-hair theorem, the cosmic censorship conjecture, uniqueness theorems and stability properties. Regarding the non-hair theorems, it is observed that, by considering the presence of cosmological constant and different configurations of matter, new solutions of black objects with hair and event horizons of different topologies are obtained. These properties also change as the number of dimensions in which possible black object solutions live increases. Our group studies new solutions of black objects in four or more dimensions by considering different matter fields and higher curvature terms.
